Valentine's Day
Surprises here, dating there, couple's everywhere.
It's the time to brag how romantic you are when it comes to relationships.
"What did you plan for your partner? How will you surprise her?"
"Did you prepare boquet of flowers? chocolates?"
It's so heart warming to receive like those kinds of gifts, or surprises for someone you love. The efforts and the "I love you's", will make you fall in love with your partner more. It will make you feel really so special for a day.
It's just so so full of love during the Valentine's day.
But Valentine's Day nowadays is seemed to be misleaded by people.
The society seemed to set standards on how Valentine's day should be celebrated.
So it tends to pressure those who can't afford extravagant surprises for their partners.
It tends to pressure every relationships to become flashy when it comes to expressing their love for their partner.
It tends to encourage other people to become more idealistic and materialistic.
And there goes the conflict between relationships. Some might be envious and question their partners;
"Why didn't you do that for me?"
"Why didn't you surprise like me blah blah blah"
"You don't love me anymore? You didn't even prepared something for me! "
Like really? Are we having a basis here on how Valentine's day must be celebrated?
Is it a must to demand and expect something from your partners?
For I know some may not afford, some may be having a hard time from something, that's why they didn't made anything special for you in that day, but that doesn't mean that he/she doesn't love you anymore and that doesn't tend to lessen your value as his/her partner.
Sometimes it's not always about being flashy and idealistic, it is sometimes about how we appreciate our partners the circumstances, and of course it is sometimes about, how to be contented with everything. Just contented.
Don't be fooled and envious by what you see in other people, it's their own way of expressing themselves, you have your own way too!
Cause look there are a lot of happy couples without giving their partner flashy surprises but they still love each other, they are still contented. There are also couples giving their partners flashy surprises just to conceal the truth and go with the trend, without even knowing that their partners are cheating with them already.
See?
Let us break the norm and let us all be genuine with ourselves, our feelings, and how we treat our love ones. Everyone has their own way of expression, if you are the type of that person who doesn't like flashy things and you always like it that simple then be genuine with your partner. That will still make a lot of sense.
There's also nothing wrong with people giving their partners pompous efforts, it's their own ways of expression and they deserve to be also respected just like those who does simple and lowkey things.
But the thing is it's not always being flashy, it's not always boasting, and it's not always meeting everyone's expections on how it should be done!
It's a matter of appreciation, love, and contentment.
Perhaps, Valentines isn't always about couples it's also a time for celebrating and expressing your love for your family, friends, and to anyone who is special to you.
Spread love even in the simpliest way that you can, and let's make everyday a Valentines Day!
xoxo
PS: Happy Valentines Day Everyone!
